Yeah, this is short lesson of Polish language :-) This wasp is called in Polish Szczerklina Piaskowa. Try to pronounce it :-)

Sand Digger Wasp
Ammophila sabulosa
Length 20mm

Favours sandy areas, particularly coasts; commonest in S. Often seen dragging immobilised caterpillar larger than itself back to burrow in which eggs are laid; burrow entrance plugged with soil. Has narrow 'waist'. Flies May-August.

A nice little quartet of photos here.
I like the to right one the best.

Fabulous collage of this little creature. And it's interesting to note the similarities in the features on top of the head compared to my paper wasp. Do you have any idea what purpose those bumps serve?
Great posting

Hi Grzegorz.
I like your amazing collage. It combines two cute close-up and two true macro shots. Excellent presentation of this insect by perfectly taken pictures. I am impressed with sharpness and details of all pictures, excellent composition and impressive POV. Well done and best regards.
