[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all,
I write this note with some mixed feeling! Probably this will be my last post from Netherlands as I will be travelling to India in couple of days :-) , but this does not necessarily mean that I will not be posting pictures shot in Netherlands in the near future! Mixed feeling, coz I'm excited to travel back to India and my Omkar hills, at the same time I'll be missing my GREAT friends Thijs, Rene and Paula.

Today's dedication goes to Paula and Rene (super photographers, nature lovers and wonderful friends).
Rene, is a wonderful human being and a great friend, he showed me wonderful places and the beauty of Holland. Driving from Alasmeer to Hoek Van Holland was one of the best experiences that I had in Netherlands :-) Thanks a lot Rene and its my luck and pleasure to have a friend like you.
Paula! What a great lady she is. She was the first to contact me when I was in Netherlands and has been my guide to places throughout my stay here. The dinner at your place and the hospitality that you couple showed me is something that I'll cherish through out my life. Thanks a lot Paula.
I would like to thank this couple by posting a close up of “Rainbow Lorikeet”. richoglossus haematodus is a species of Australasian parrot found in Australia, eastern Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Their diet makes them particularly messy; they are well-known in aviculture for their messy, liquid droppings and energetic nature ( I had a first hand experience of their droppings :-) ). This was taken today at Avifauna Vogelpark Avifauna near Alphen a/d Rijn ( http://www.avifauna.nl/vogelpark/index.php
) Here Visitors are encouraged to feed them a specially-prepared nectar, and the birds will happily settle on arms and heads to consume it!

Hi Goutham.
There no need for and explanation about the name of this bird.
All the colours displayed only on this close up are pretty amazing, and your picture takes advantage of it.
Excellent exposure settings, focus and very clear details on the plumage.
Congratulations and thanks to post it, a nice dedication to your friends.
Wish you all the best in your travel,
JM

Hi Goutham,

A beautiful portrait of this colorful bird and a lovely tribute to your Netherlands friends. The colors are amazing. Wonderful details and textures that show up so well against the black background.

Hi Goutham,
Outstanding shot of this Rainbow Lorikeet with amazing colours and sharp details on its plumage. Superb use of flash lighting and the resultant black BG lets the Lorikeet stand out majestically. A great last shot from NL, the tone in your words speak a lot about your feelings and your heavy heart. Excellent POV to portray this calm pose and very nicely composed. Kudos.
TFS.

What a so lovely and colorful shot! Details on the feathers are amazing! The black bg directs our look directly to the bird... What a wonderful parrot!

Well done and TFS!
