|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|These are Greenhood Orchids (Pterostylis banksii) growing in a moist area of lowland forest in a reserve near Mount Pirongia in the Waikato.|
This is another shot pulled out of my Pirongia files from 2004
(With well over 10,000 shots in my files now,its not surprising that I forget the odd one now and again)
Pterostylis are beginning to flower around the West Coast now,so you may well see a few of these in the coming weeks.
You can see a close up shot I took of one a few days ago Here
Hope you like it.
Thanks for looking.

They are starting to flower, I saw some the other day. Nice how you have used the log on a diagonal through the image, just breaks all the bunch up nicely from the forest floor.
Lovely greens in a nice light.

A lovely shot of these orchids, you are making me a bit "green" with envy. This time of the year is very dull and all the vegetation is brown here.
The shot looks so lush and green.Wonderful colour saturation.
Well focused with very good detail.

Amazing shapes of these greenhood orchids. Seems to be in abundance there and I like the natural surrounding and the ambience you have portrayed. The lighting, sharpness, exposure and colours are very impressive and I like your POV too. Very nicely composed. Kudos.
