Upland goose(Chloephaga picta) is the most abundant of the geese in Magellan and Aysen zones; but more to north its number is going decreasing, being able to be seen until Colchagua as winter visitor, though isolated couples can be remained during the breeding era.
In its austral zone, it breed in low zones as well as in tablelands and hills, taking advantage of any hole or depression near to lagoons or rivers and that consider able to line it with its own soft feathers of the chest, forming a very protected nest. The posture generally is between 5 to 7 eggs, of average size of 75 x 50 mm. and beginning in November, being seen little geese between December and February, but many of those will die victim of predators like Kelp Gull (Larus dominicanus) or Chilean Skua (Catharacta chilensis).

Hi Mircea,
Beautiful photo... Your POV and the snow covered mountains in the background are stunning. It's like a scene from the "Le Peuple migrateur". Bravo and TFS

Hello Mircea,
impressive capture of these migrating Geese.
The POV is fantastic! It is rare we see birds flying from above!
How did you achieve this?
Wonderful BG and a good DOF.
Well done,

This is a wonderful picture taken from a much different place than we up here are familiar with. It appears as though it should be in a magazine! I shall return to this tomorrow..
