Fog over Loch Morlich II

You are trying to overcome a gray day by posting a gray image ??? : )
I think including the rocks is good. I'd like a bit more of them and a bit less of the lake... meaning a lower point of view.
You captured the mood of a gray foggy day. I can almost smell the damp air. Of course looking out my window looks exactly like this so maybe I am smelling damp air!! I emailed you an altered version.

Ya know..I have not posted a few shots because of things in the foreground. It is a somewhat more subjective area of concern than most. And it is a way of how people see things differently. There is a school of photography that would say it is in the way of the photograph...however if one looks at professional news work, one seers it all the time..
While it may not be optimal...I think it should not preclude posting...IMHO I believe it gives a sense of depth to the image....so I forget about it.

I'm glad you posted this Niek, i remember you previous posts from this spot and this has the same sublime, dreamlike quality. The lighting is perfect and and the whole scene very peaceful. As for the stone wall...i appreciate your concerns but i think this has worked well and adds alot of depth.
I am not too keen on the frame if i am honest, as i feel it gets a bit lost in some parts around the image, but that's just personal preference and the photograph is beautiful.

I enjoy it and I'm happy you searched your archives. It's beautiful, so gracious and peaceful.
Sometimes I'm surprised that what I have left in the archive becomes a favourite. And in your case I'm really not sure that the row of stones is a bad foreground. They belong to this landscape and this spot, why not help us to find the way into the image and to accentuate the depth.

I like the moody atmosphere in this very nice image. Although the rocks are not very photogenic they do add depth to the image, thanks for sharing.

This frame is full of silence!
Provided that duck keeps the mouth shut, hehehe...
I like the composition with the rocky foreground, the typical rainy day atmosphere is well captured!

Hello Niek, that's a very peaceful and beautiful composition, the soft light is fantastic, well done my friend !
Quite unorthodox...yeah :) But never-the-less very original! I say: "why not?"
This is what i would imagine it's a typical view over most lochs in Scotland. Grey and foggy...unless of course you're very very lucky and you get only that very low mist and a natural and bright sun light in the rest. :)
I think you managed a very beautiful and moody picture here, my friend. The inclusion of the duck (i think) is nice and places a natural element in this cold and tranquil looking place.
The POV is nice, but i would be curious on how a photo might have looked with Evelynn's suggestions - a lower one.
However, i also have a question like this: did you have any other longer lens than this one? Because if you did, i'd like to know if you took any photos of a farther bank - of those lovely trees there in the mist.
Anyway...enough with all the variations and ideas. Have a wonderful weekend my friend!

We have plenty of fog at the moment, it looks like the old Sherlock Holmes movies at the moment. I like the simplicity here. You have managed to catch the fog well.
