Hi Markus

A very touching photo and note, my friend!
It's true...if one looks closely at nature, he/she can discover art from the most basic form all the way to the most complex.
You show one of these types of art here superbly and i've seen similar photos on your website, too. I must tell you that these kinds of photos are very good for a relaxing therapy because you can just look at them and imagine all sorts of things, clear your mind of all that is cynical and ugly and just explore the endless possibilities of our imagination.
I like this - simple and abstract...sometimes we don't need anything more...and sometimes it can also be too much...

I'm said to hear about your decision, but i understand it perfectly! I did that too some time ago...
TN is very addictive and can grow on you a lot, until the point that you can't go to bed at 1 or 2 o'clock at night because you know that you didn't write as many critiques as you should have...and that's not healthy.
That being said, we will all miss you, but i back you up on your decision. Go, rest, relax and maybe take some new shots that will make you feel even better and after all that, when you feel ready, come back...we'll be here waiting :)

I'll also take this occasion to wish you a peaceful, warm and sincere Merry Christmas and simply and only the best of things in the year to come!

Merry Christmas and enjoy the rest and distance. TN is too addictive. I think we all understand. I have had to take a step back being unable to participate anywhere near as much I am would have liked to through ill health, but I appreciate the few short hours I get on TN far more now.

What a wonderful capture of the snow as well. I really like it.

Hi Markus,
I know how you feel. I have been dealing with a similar effect. Hence the reason for some low activy over the last couple of weeks. I do hope you will find some way to mix TN in your daily life without neglecting your real life. In the mean time, enjoy your break from TN but please don't make it a departure.
Before I forget. The photo is a stunner. I love the minimalistic feel to it. The organic shapes of the snow have created a wonderful piece of land.

This photo and your nicest words with it makes the most elegant good bye for this (I hope just a little) while and from 2007. And a perfect timing with reaching the magic 1000 points :)
I wish you and all yours to be very happy in the new year and wish you to get back with new powers, hopes and emotions (and new shots of course!)
I understand your feelings too, I had a problem with time the past weeks too, and I ended up the same - if I write one critique I will write 10 more so I stopped and just watched for 5 minutes once or twice a day.

To be honest as I see TN you are the one with the most distinguishable and ever surprising style my friend so it would be a great loss if you didn't come back!

I am sorry i miseed this one my friend, it's truly beautiful and and so typical of your style. A little slice of sublime brilliance, these organic shapes are so well exposed and framed by you. It would be easy to not make this type of shot work, but as always you have succeeded. Very well done and a happy new year to you and your family!

Bonjour Markus,
Très belle photo pour prendre congé pour un certain temps de TN.
Etonnant ce qu'on peut voir dans la nature, si on laisse l'oeil se promener sans hâte. Merci aussi pour ton histoire. Tu es un grand rêveur.
Je suis forcée aussi de faire un break, mon ordinateur ayant rendu l'âme. Quant ä mes photos, je ne sais si je les retrouverai, on verra si une réparation est possible.

Hello Markus,
This is a very beautiful and sensual capture but it reminds me of when I was a little child (and closer to the ground!) and used to admire the shapes in the soft new snow that had fallen. It was so beautiful and soft and we used to lie down in it and make angels!!
No such lovely experiences here this grey winter!
