A scarabeidae beetle, closely related to the June Bugs, Phyllopertha horticola. As usual with this family, the larvae live in the ground for several years on vegetal matter. The adult feeds on a variety of plants. Those were numerous that day on the summit of Puy de Dome, an extinct volcano in Auvergne.

Hello Philippe!
This is a wonderful pair.I like also the little spider(is't it?) too.Details and lighting are perfect!

I like the way in which the insects clutch themselves with the sheet, and the fact that there are two of them (if we forgot the small one, which follows behind) adds to the composition. The reflection of the light on scarabeidae is a little too strong, but I like this photograph.

Good capture and very good composition, the little creature ar the bottom also seen very good.
The background is little bit noisy.

Good photo Philippe!
The colors are great I like the brightness of the colors on the bugs back!
Great catch, you even got two of them!
There is a very small spider in the picture!:)

Philippe, This is a great shot. Perfect colors and sharp detail. A Great Job On This One!

Belle et intéressante composition macro-photographique pour ces deux insectes avec leurs jolies couleurs métallisées.
Well Done !

Wow, they're getting into that leaf, aren't they? What a lot of damage they must do. Very good capture of them Philippe, very sharp and clear. Well shown. TFS.
