[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the absence of being able to get away to the mountains, I am resorting to my next favourite subjects, trees and sunrises/sunsets.

So somewhat similiar to yesterday's post, but some 25 minutes later and to be honest, almost too dark to be taking photos without a tripod, I thought I would try to a slightly different format.

As with quite a bit of Europe, the south of England has been suffering from some bad fog just prior to Christmas, but it was this fog that has made for some beautiful pictures from many TN'ers.

No filters were used when taking this picture, and no colour editting etc has been used on the picture. It is a darker picture because the sun had set almost an hour prior to this picture being taken.

ISO 640, F/4.0 and +1/3EV with an additional +1/3EV at the RAW conversion stage and I think I had resorted to Image stabilisation as well by this stage becuase I am still quite weak and can't handhold easily at 1/64 sec without camera shake.

Hi Emma. You have Captured this one so well. I can feel the mist and dampness. the sun set has given a warm glow to the sky. the main tree in the forground helps to balance the shot. so very well done TFS.
Happy new Year to You.

Ahh... this one has the magic to it Emma. I like it a lot. The color is just wonderful and the composition is strong. I think this one has just a touch more light in the foreground, therefore just a bit more depth into the scene. That is a fairly heavy camera to handhold at slow shutter speeds. If there is any softness in this shot it doesn't bother me at all. It just sort of adds to the general ambience.

Evelynn ; )

Hi Emma, This is very pretty. So peaceful. You did a fine job with the exposure and the composition. The color is naturally beautiful. Well done

Hi Emma,
The square format is very pleasant, and reinforces the composition of the image. The colors are very soft. One smells oneself well when this image is looked at, really succeeded... Thank you

Hello Emma,
Wonderful last-minute capture before dark! I love the light and colours and the misty effect in the distance. Beautiful silhouettes and a very fine compsoition.
Many thanks and best wishes, Ulla

Hello Emma
Very intersting misty scene you captured,
Perfect composition,exposure and POV,Welldone.

Good Luck

Hi Emma,
The mood in this photo is wonderful. The soft light of the setting sun and the fog adds to the mood, But the wide spread trees does it for me.
The common looks to be a pretty good shape after the burn, although this tree looks a little frail to stand here all alone. You mastered the fog in the photo really well. I know what it can do with the exposure of a photo.

If those Canons do anything, they capture the slightest changes in contrast and colours so very well...with he right person behind the controls that is. Wonderful. I see someone already marked it...I can see why. Nice that you are posting more often now...it makes me wish spring were coming sooner..

Hi Emma,
A beautiful and moody feel to this scne. Clouds and mist give it a moody edge, but the pastel color of the setting sun gives it just a nice touch of warmth. Well done!
