Summer Shower N Arizona
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
In July & August the deserts of the SW US have what they call "monsoon season." It is nothing compared to real Asian monsoons--the definition is 3 consecutive days of measurable precipitation. But it does provide the Sonoran Desert with its second yearly season of moisture and is important to the rhythm of desert life.
This is just one small shower-cloud in the larger seasonal event.
Post-processing limited to sharpening and contrast adjustment. I did a black & white version of this shot with a more severe crop, but the color version seems to be more popular. |

There you were out in the middle of the desert, just you and your camera...what a wonderful combination and photo, James!
This landscape is superb with great detail, color, lighting and dramatic scenery. Well done and thank you.
