[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Fulica atra (TUR: Sakar meke, ENG: Eurasian Coot): One of the most abundant water bird around this area.

Today morning I went to Zonguldak port to check birds, and hope to see especially ducks. However I saw only these coots, Crested Grebe, Gulls and Cormorants. No meter how, I did not have a good photo of Eurasian Coot and take this photo. I hope you like.

The Coot breeds across much of the Old World on freshwater lakes and ponds. It is resident in the milder parts of its range, but migrates further south and west from much of Asia in winter as the waters freeze.

The Coot is much less secretive than most of the rail family, and can be seen swimming on open water or walking across waterside grasslands. It is an aggressive species, and strongly territorial during the breeding season.

Hello Mustafa,
Beautiful capture of this bird. Superb clarity and details. The muddy feet and probably web feet looks like a duck around here.
Regards,
Jusni

Hi Mustafa!,

This Coot sure look like a duck to me.
Good exposure of this black plumage.
Sharp focus with your canon lens event wide open aperture.

cheers,
/Tabib/.

Hello Mustafa
The coot is a lovely water bird with a seemingly comical behaviour at times!!
Your picture here is really sharp and demonstrates theit walk which almost seems as though they dont want to get thier feet wet!!
Best Regards
Paul

Good sharpness and well composed.
Well done.

Merhaba Mustafa Bey,
You've got a perfect shot of a departing coot against a nice bluish BG, the details of the plumage are astounding. TFS.

Hello Mustafa,
Very difficult subject to photograph due to its whites and blacks. You managed well though.
Excellent depth of field as well.
