interesting to see these wild Tortoises, we only ever see them here as pets in the UK. You've have got some great detail in their shells and i like the way they seem to be in mid conversation! I am sure you didn't need a fast shutter speed here ;o)

Nice to photograph these Spur-thighed Tortoises in the wild. You chose the best POV to show the carapaces and set these two in a fine composition.
Thanks for sharing this one,
best wishes, Ivan

Gee whiz...do these things just come along while you are walking around? or are they belonging to someone? It is an unusual sight for me..I once had a box turtle which my father picked up from the middle of the road down in the SW US near Florida. He would have been run over...and dad was going to rele4ase him but we forgot and ended up taking it back home to Ohio. We kept it for the summer..but released it into the park after..I hope it survived.

Excellent capture of these two friends. I've seen them once in the wild in Turkey which was a very nice surprise. I don't know how common they're there. Very sharp details and a fine composition. Hopefully they're on the increase after last summer!
Many thanks, Ulla

Your characters are so cute and your have reproduced them with great skill. I like superb details of the animals, excellent DOF and natural colours. It is a pity a little bit that framing on the left side is strong and cuts the part of animal. My best wishes and TFS.

The Balkans are really happy to host such a nice populations of land turtles and Romania is also a part of them (somewhat). I too had the chance of taking such trips - to the souther part ofthe country - and was able to see lots in the days i was there.
You came back with a very nice picture, too, of these two cute ones.
Very good details and natural colors that contrast well with the sandy soil under them.
Are they mates?
Well anyway, nice to see some summer images, too. Looking forward to the next season ;)
Bravo and TFS

It looks like these two are having an intimate chit-chat, Chris :-).
Very well composed shot that shows the patterns and colours on the shells of both the tortoises in precise details. The way they are looking at each other has also been deftly recorded in the shot.
TFS and cheers.

this could have been a better shot, there is a lot of scope in improving the composition, cutting the back part of the tortoise spoils the fun here,
tfs & regards

The focus is sharp and the details are very good.
