[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I am so lucky that this shrike is still present in my area and has been since November, before it heads back to Scandinavia possibly in March for breeding. It has been wonderful to watch it feeding on beetles and voles and nearly taking a stonechat on 1 occassion.
This is the closest I managed to get to it with alot of camouflage on, to about 20 feet.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did capturing it with the camera.
Like to say that this is possibly 1 of only about 10 in the UK at this time.

Hello Richard,
Superb capture of this beautiful Great Grey Shrike, a bird we definitely hope to see here in the spring! It is a beautiful bird and you've caught it in a very fine pose showing great details and fine colours. The sky is a bit dull but so it is here too!! Well done!
Many thanks and regards, Ulla

Hello Richard
This is indeed a rare capture in the UK and having followed your pictures I appreciate what efforts that you have put in to attain this lovely crisp picture....Hopefully we will get a break in the dreary weather we are having soon and get a few cold sharp frosts!!
