I was lucky to see this nice Marsh Fritillary in Alps mountains at about 1500m altitude.
Colonies of this butterfly are often small and prone to extinction in Europe...
Scientific name : Eurodryas Aurinia - Family : Nymphalidae.
With my tiny camera Canon Ixus 400 in mode : macro-auto-spot...
Cropped and resized in 800x600 for TN with Micrografx Picture Publisher 8.

Nice capture Christian. The camera seems to have a nice macro mode. The details are sharp. The effect of the two smooth leaves ads a nice touch. Those antennae are especialy sharp. Nice work.

Very good sharp and natural shot, Christian. I Like the hairy contour and the antenae, they are very detailed. And the composition with that curved leave is lovely. Nice.

Christian this is very good. The colours are true and the entire butterfly is in focus. Nice work and nice note. Well done.

Very good one Christian,
The details are very good, and the shot is very natural, the colours are very good, and the dof is nice, very good one.

Very impressive capture, Christian, with a beautiful rendition of textures and colors. The diagonal positioning of the fritillary on the leaf makes a good composition, as well as a nice contrasting color setting. DOF is very well handled, too, and you also got some nice plays of light and shadow all across the frame. Good one.

I love this composition and I remain impressed by team IXUS. The shot is very sharp and the DOF is good. Thanks for posting

Bonita composicion... excelente perspectiva en diagonal, con una interesante pequeña sombra de las alas.
Buena profundidad y colores bellos aunque algo ligeros.
Me atreví a realizar un Workshop, presentando otra visión de la misma imagen... espero sea de tu agrado.

Pretty composition... excellent perspective in diagonal, with interesting a small shade of the wings. Good depth and beautiful colors although something slight.
I dared to make a Workshop, presenting another vision of the same image... I hope is you like it.
