This was taken at Stocker's Lake.
The Robin hopped onto a branch and stayed there for a while giving me lots of time ot take some snaps of it.

I hope you like it!

Latin name
Erithacus rubecula

Family
Chats and thrushes (Turdidae)

Overview
The UK's favourite bird - with its bright red breast it is familar throughout the year and especially at Christmas! Males and females look identical, and young birds have no red breast and are spotted with golden brown. Robins sing nearly all year round and despite their cute appearance, they are aggressively territorial and are quick to drive away intruders. They will sing at night next to street lights.

Where to see them
Across the UK in woodland, hedgerows, parks and gardens.

When to see them
All year round.

What they eat
Worms, seeds, fruits and insects.

Hi Joe

This shot interested me for two reasons. 1 Its a damn good shot with great sharpness, DOF and plumage detail. 2. Ive been looking at this lens in the local camera shop and wondering? Your shots thus far are quite impressive....I can feel the whole in my bank account already.

Hello Joe,
This Robin certainly looks content and you have captured him from an excellent POV with good sharpness, pose, lighting and set the image in a fine composition. Excellent OOF Bg too that sets him off nicely.
The grey fringe to the red breast is well seen here.

Hallo Joey
I agree with you that this is quite a plump Robin. This is a very beautiful bird. Very elegant and handsome looking. The details of this photo are of high excellence and really sharp. I like the arrangement of colours of this Robins feathers, and the grey, orange, yellow and brown is a good combination. The big black eye is a sure attraction. Lovely close-up. Congratulations. It was lovely to look at and most enjoyable. Enjoy your weekend
Kind regards
Anna
