[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Now I have a decent lens (a Canon EF 70-200 F4L) hopefully my pictures will improve somewhat. Recently I went to Center-parcs holiday camp in Elveden, Suffolk where there is lots of wildlife. This is my first photo post from that weeks holiday. It's a male Mallard duck, but then we all knew that, didn't we?
Shot in RAW mode, increased saturation by 20%, cropped, resized to 800 pixels, USM.
I'm pretty pleased with it but I heartily welcome any critiques. Please tell me anything that's wrong with it so that I can improve next time!
Andy.

It looks very good to me . Can I see your reflection in his eye ? I have a new camera and haven't tried a raw photograph yet.
the D. O. F. is perfect But I think the photograph could be a little smoother less noise at least that is my opinion . however I am only a beginner in this business . You deserve full marks however , jim

Very funny portrait, IMO framed too centered.
Well done.
TFS.

Heya Andy,

It's great to see you post again! This is a good portrait. The lens you own now is obviously a good lens. I do think the focus is a wee bit soft, but nothing serious. Colors are good, POV is great and the BG suits the picture very well; it's contrasting. Well done & TFS! Keep 'em coming my friend. :)

Regards,
Pieter

"Now I have a decent lens", I'd say. Great shot the detail and focus is stunning.

I anything a little crop at the top might make a slight difference. But only sligth.

This is a very good portrait Andy!

Focus and DOF are excellent. Soft lighting and exposure are beautiful. TFS
