Today a cold and sunny day, although I went for a walk I haven't made any spectaculair captures,I thought to go in the summer archives once again, wher I found this Large (or cabbage) white, thanks for watching and your comments and have a nice weekend,

Large white
The Large White is common throughout Europe, North Africa and Asia to the Himalayas often in agricultural areas, meadows and parkland. It is a strong flyer and the British population is reinforced in most years by migrations from the continent. Scattered reports of the Large White from the northeastern United States (New York, Rhode Island and Maine) over the past century are of a dubious nature and indicate either accidental transport or intentional release. Such introductions threaten to establish this agricultural pest in North America.

The wings are white, with black tips on the forewings of both males and females, the female also has two black spots on each forewing. The underside is a pale greenish and serves as excellent camouflage when at rest. The black markings are generally darker in the summer brood. Its wingspan is 5 to 6.5 cm.

Great take as i notice White always fly actively, at least in my area. Not easy to get a still shot. Well done.

Hello Paul,
Nice reminder of summer!
Fine capture of a male Cabbage White nicely composed on the Hawksbit flower. Excellent use of flash that highlights the colours without the BG being too dark.
Thanks for sharing this one,
Ivan

Hi Paul,

Beautiful composition on an excellent background. Splendid colours with great details on the butterfly and if I'm not mistaken she's looking at you. I say she because the wings appear to me like a gorgeous dress that she's wearing. Again, superb image, congratulations!
