Hi all!

It's spring, sure, but here at my home it's still very cold in the morning, although it gets quite warm in the afternoon. We had -5°C this morning, -12°C two days ago. I tell you this in order to justify icy postings... I went to the mountains today, too, and again made a series of pictures in snow and ice. But don't worry, in a couple of weeks I'll post some flowers...

I found this very small ice surface down at the river Ärgera near my home. I used my 100mm Macro lens and was at a distance of about 60cm. Taken free hand in RAW, level corrections in PS, attenuation of the bright tones, sharpness and then crop and jpg for TN.

Kind regards

Markus

Merci!

Hi Markus!

The right side formations seem like 3d perspectivical cubes! The lines lead the eyes to the top left "broken window" effect. Perfect geometry of nature...
TFS, and let me thank you for your kind words on my shots too, they help me a lot to find my way here!

Best regards,
Andor

Hello Markus,

Beautiful composition. I prefer this one than the last one. Excellent sharpness. Beautiful shape in the ice. Nice reflections of the light. Nice colours too.
Cheers,

Mariki

Hi Markus,
nice sharp detail and superb clarity, i like the strong, almost geometrical shapes that make up your composition here. Well balanced shot, i'll miss your winter abstracts!
Paul

Sorry I have been absent from your gallery..Sometimes when I see your name pop up on another's picture i am reminded. Today it was you on mine and thanks for that I come back once more...and to a lovely image which somehow..and this is only me, brings me thoughts of a fine whiskey...top of the line or perhaps scotch..not sure why...Perhaps it proves that good photography in advertising works well in purchasing...although I am more of a beer drinker.. A lovely and thoughtful image...I like it...
Bob
PS The bird was supposed to be small...it was kind of the idea of the image..I know...don't worry about it..your a COOL GUY.

Hi Markus

I think every season is very beautiful especially in such a wonderful country such as Switzerland :)
But instead of showing the wide view, you are able to seek and find beauty in the smallest and most common places - such as here :)
Again a very interesting abstract shot and another very nice geometrical composition.
It's a nicely balances shot - with spots on the left and stripes on the right - all exposed correctly and with just a little touch of colors, to bring the extra textures out even better.
Very well done, my friend!

Bravo and TFS

Hi Markus,
I saw our gallery and looked again at the country where you are from, yes and then the notes here made sense to me, been wondering why so much of ice:)There is a lot of association that one make with Switzerland and the its wide scenic beauty.

The shot here is a good one, looking so much like a broken shards of glass. The little bubbles of water frozen under the glass are nicely captured.

TFS & Cheers

Hi Markus, splendid ice composition, great abstract painting, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hi Markus,
You have got a way with these sort of images and portray them so beautifully. Actually you make a piece of art from the most common. Excellent shot with fantastic details. just the right kind of lighting and perfectly exposed. Great POV to get the right angle and the composition is superb. Kudos.
TFS.
