Hi Joe
A millisecond later and you wouls have nailed this one! Aahhh...
Not that this isn't good, but i think you know what i'm talking about: the cricket being knocked-out and stuck to the tongue...the kind of shot that every one of us dream about :)
But don't worry...with such a nice place as the one you shot this one in, you'll have much more chances.
Nice flash work here and very good focus on the tongue. Lovely colors in the entire photo and good sharp details as well.
Bravo and TFS

Good catch Joe, the eye of the dragon on its prey is really impressive my friend, the chameleon-like head lacks the chameleon's tongue, so some "close encounters" are unavoidable!

Hello Joe,
Terrible this picture! I love the composition of this shot. The parallelism of both heads (hunter and hunted) is amazing. You also clicked at he right moment, the tongue not having reached the prey. Bravo for this exceptional picture.
best regards
Anne
Hello Joe,
Superb action shot and excellent timing with great focus on both Dragon and Cricket. Details are very sharp and colours natural. Where did you get this shot, are they your pets? :-) Very impressive and most interesting to see.
TFS and cheers, Ulla

Hi Joe,
I figure how patient you had must be to have this shot done!
The scene is very good...I think some of the characters here is gone have bad luck...
Did you applied noise reduction on the background?
I ask because can be seen some noise on the dragon's skin, specially around the eye, but then the tongue and background are just so smooth and fine...and I see you used ISO 100!!!
Congratulations and thanks for share.
My best regards,
JM

Hello Joe,
Almost a perfect timing. Just a millisecond later and you can see the whole tongue. But that is easier said than don (-: No, Joe it is an amazing shot. Razorsharp and ful of details. Natural colors. And take a look for instance to the eyes of this chamaleon. Complete fixed on his prey. Wonderful. Well done. Thanks for sharing and TFS BOB

Hi Joe,
You've outdone yourself with this one. How do you find these things??? Fantastic timing - I'm wondering if you will have a follow-up to this. The poor little cricket doesn't have a chance. The tongue of the dragon is some sight. And his eye!! You captured this perfectly.

Hello Joe,
What a brillaint piece of composition!
Wonder where did you manage this one and how many did you have to fire in how many seconds/minutes!:)
THe result is there to see ..good idea to frame that sticking out tongue(n'ver really saw this upclose and personal!!!)and the fleeing prey!THe lighting is perfect highlighting the red rimmed eye of the chameleon. Very well done.

This must be the last split second in the life of this House Cricket, Joe.
You have captured this poignant moment extremely well.
The image is technically outstanding in terms of clarity, focus, sharpness and colours. The curled up tongue of the Dragon ready to lap up the "food" looks very life-like.
Well done and thanks for sharing this image depicting an event that one can capture only rarely.
