[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is one of the hawks that was "on alert"... his eye on nearby great egrets stalking small prey. Being an opportunist and swift of flight he was waiting to snatch the egret's quarry right from its mouth!

Wow,
Excellent shot, great detail on the feather and especially that watchful eye. Great composition with all the branches framing the image beautifully. Considering the very bright sky, you did a fantastic job on the detail feature of this dark color bird, not an easy shot to capture. Great job.
Way

The composition with circular fashion of branches reminds a scene come out of a fairy tale book. The sharpness and details are excellent.

Nice details here, especially in spite of the dismal day! I love the predatory look in his eye, the sharp beak, and the wonderful composition. Nice job.

Hello Evelynn,
Despite the weather and you had achived such fine image of the Hawk, well done!
very nice pose of him in good sharpness, colour and superb details especially on the eye!

This shows why you taught for so many years..composition. Similar to location but in a 2D way I reckon...Fine work. I learn more each day!

Evelynn,
Your hawk photos are great, how do you manage to get so close without them spooking. I especially like the eye contact that you've captured on this shot. You can surely see that he is looking intensely at something interesting.
I tried all last year to capture a white hawk that was hanging around our area and could only get a few fleeting shots off. TFS.

Hello Evelynn,

Very nice shot of the hawk.
Love the way the bird is naturally framed by the branches of the tree.
Sharpness, composition and exposure are excellent.
Pitty the sky is a bit dull, but you can't have everything at the same time :)

Kindest regards and I do wish you and yours a very Happy Easter.

Harry

Hello Evelynn,
Very nice shot, I like the framing with the branches
Well done

Hello Evelynn

A beautiful shot of this calculating hawk.
Excellent sharpness and focus, the eye detail is wonderful,it looks like it is coming up with a devious plan.
Nicely composed in the gnarly branches.

Hello Evelynn,
Wildlife are opportunists as we are they take advantage of easier methods of obtaining what they want, in this case a meal. Great capture and thanks for sharing Evelynn.
Rick

Hi Evelynn,
this is a good capture of the rather serious looking hawk.Is that an oak tree that the bird is perched in?I have a number of photos with that type of sky,one I call a xenon sky for the severe white washed look of it,like an atomic bomb of a flash went off.The best thing about a sky like that is how strong contrasts can be and this photo has very strong contrast indeed. The moss and lichen add a nice texture to the composition and the bird is clear and sharp overall.I hope that you can have some blue sky days soon as rain and dull sky can become monotonous after a while and we all need vitamin D that the sun provides. The egret does the work and this hawk rips him off, what a lazy guy. Thanks for sharing this stern looking raptor, then again don't they all look serious. Hi Evelynn.
Fina foto de este Halcon. Muy alta nitidez y gran enfoque en el objetivo principal. Su mirada atenta a una posible presa es hermosa.
Saludos Evelynn.
