A Fern's Beginning
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|While visiting the Trees of Mystery located just outside of Crescent City, CA, we were witness to many of nature's beauty. The young ferns were coming up all over the forest floor. Their tight curl that will soon become the beautiful fern that we see blanketing under and around the giant redwoods. A beauty worth sharing.|

wow so many views and nobody has any thing to say about this photo.Well I'm viewer #515 and I like this photo of the fern fiddle-head.Fiddle-heads are excellent to eat while they are still in that form that is and can be fried or steamed to cook them. The colour is very good and the focus is nicely done for the young fern. The things that need to be different for this photo that would bring it to life even more are the elimination through a wider aperture say f/4 or as low as your lens will go- the background,a lower aperture value causes the field of depth to become more narrow and the background then becomes burred and less distracting. The other thing that can help the image along is how you crop it as I think it would look better if the head were down a third of the way from the top of the frame.I have tried a workshop for this photo to show you what I think can be done differently,I hope you like it.
