[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
An Osprey eating what appears to be a mouse or vole. I gather that this is unusual since Osprey eat fish 99% of the time. The choice of the rodent likely reflects the fact that the Osprey's main fishing lake remains mostly frozen over. Perhaps it migrated North a week too early?

Although this is a large bird, Osprey are sometimes bullied by Bald Eagles who, being much larger, will attempt to steal the Osprey's fish.

Hi Josh,

You've got a great potfolio here on TN with lots of very beautiful images and this one is no exception to that.
Wonderful pose of the Osprey spreading the left wing.
Only thing I miss id a hooded crow underneath :)
Great composition, sharpness and exposur and due to that all details in the feathers are wonderfully viseble.
Beautiful contrast and the bird does stand out lovely against the blue color tones of the sky.

Fantastic scene and superb of quality picture. So expressive pose of the nice bird and great POV and framing. Exposure, sharpness, details and colours are amazing. I also impressed with transparency of the image at whole. Bravo.
