hello, i kno that i am posting to much Squirrel images
but i would like to post this too and this one i am
dedicating to my good TF friend Arfer

last week he post me as DEDICATION a Red Squirrel image
today i wand to dedicat him this image, and yesterday i saw
my first Wood Duck (and get an in-flight image from far),
i am inviting Arfer (Rob) to come and shoot in photo
the Wood Ducks in the bigginining of the month of may

this image was shot in RAW, ISO 400
MANUAL FOCUS, FLASH ON, FLASH CORRECTION 0.7

this photo has received an image editing in Photoshop

from the Northern State Universaty website

here is 2 intersting paragraphs :

« Distribution
The primary habitat for the red squirrel is evergreen forest.
North American red squirrels are present in the northern
continental United States, and throughout the Rocky Mountains.
In South Dakota, the subspecies T.h. dakotensis is found
in the Black Hills, while the subspecies T.h. minnesota is found
on the west side of Big Stone Lake. Squirrels found in the Black Hills are lighter in color and larger than those found near Big Stone Lake.

Significance
Squirrels contribute to the health of the forest habitat.
When squirrels bury nuts and seeds and forget to come
back to get them, the forest is actually being re-seeded.
This species is harvested for fur in Canada,
even though prices are low. »

Hi Asbed,

And there's STILL snow on the ground?? This squirrel is adorable in that cute pose. He really is stretching that body of his. I love the profile as he stares at something and seems to be sniffing with his nose. Good colors and details and a nice snowy setting.

Jane

I was just thinking about 'Arfer'. And that's quite normal, I suppose.
If you see Rob...my greetings to him and his family!
The image is a bit an 'Arfer' image.
Well done
