Hallo Anil
Congratulations with your 1st anniversary on Trek Nature. I have always appreciated your visits to my gallery, and enjoyed your critiques. The "matchsticks legged" insect is a great looking photo and I am glad Smitha has pestered and pushed you to photograph this interesting looking creature. The details are well captured and are clearly seen, especially the huge eye, that appears to be looking backwards to you. This insect reminds me of those weird looking people or aliens out of a Sci-Fi movie, with eyes at the most obscure places on their face or even their bodies. The white flower you have captured it on highlights the texture of the body well and brings out the almost maroon colour of the insect. Hope the year coming will able you to make more frequent postings than in the past. Thanks for sharing and thanks to Smitha for being your willing righthand.
Best Regards
Anna

Anil, you lazy lump, you made Smitha drag a stool for you to take this picture?
But then all is forgiven when I look at the stunning capture of a stunning bug you have posted on the occasion of your first anniversary on TN :-).
Congratulations!!
What a fantastic capture of this very interesting bug I have never seen before. It has a kind of body I would associate with a fictitious creature from the outer space.
Sitting atop a white flower, it looks fabulous.
Smitha has shaped and motivated you into a skilled nature photographer, so wake up, man, and start giving us pictures of this calibre before your next anniversary.
Thanks for sharing the picture and take care.

Hello Anil
It is an interesting and challenging picture for identity. For certainity it is a bug and not a beetle as characters for coleopterans is not met with. the bug probably a pentatomid bug nymph and yet to reach its adult(imago)stage. The Taxonomical position has to be ascertained by experts.
Any bug (Hemiptera/Hetoroptera) shall have mouth parts which can only pierce plant/animal and ingest itself with food in rather liquified form. The wing covers in beetles is called elytra is tough and in bugs it is not so tough like beetles(exceptions like Jewel Bugs).
Thanks for sharing picture.

Hello Anil,
Great that your wife persuaded you to take this excellent macro of what I think is the nymph of some species of Assasin Bug, certainly a species of True Bug. The sharpness, DOF, composition and POV are superb.
A great image to mark your first anniversary on TN and I congratulate you for that!
TFS this beauty,
Best regards, Ivan
