This fern is also new to me Janice,
Well seen caught and composed.
Thanks for posting!
Crisp and clear leaves..there is one I ran into in Florida which would curl as soon as I touched it...then it would come back to regular shape such as this in a few minutes. Are you familiar with that one????? Fine imagery of your area...well seen!

What an interesting looking fern. I'm happy for you that you found a new one for your fern collection. I always think of you when I see ferns! I love the alpine environment where everything seems so much smaller, well done.

So nice to see you. : )
I see you have not lost any of your enthusiasm for your beloved ferns.
This is a great shot. Well-lit, with sharp details of all those fronds.
They make an interesting pattern and you made a beautiful composition.
Hope all is well with you. TFS> : )

You have captured your first firn in a very beautiful manner. The sharpness shows a lot of details, and you did a great work with the lighting. I also like the contrast with the dead firn in the background.
P.S. I would like to thank you for your kind and encouraging words concerning my "cloudy" posting.

A beautiful fern, Janice!
I like the growth pattern of this Umbrella fern, and this capture shows an almost identical growth structure in the ferns next to the one central to the composition. We don't have anything like this type of growth structure i Europe, though I have seen branched ferns of this type in SE Asia.
A great post and thanks for sharing it!

You've filled the frame well, a nice composition. Easy to see where it got the common name "umbrella", by its structure.
The detail, DOF, color, and exposure look great!
