Hi Mehmet,
Outstanding shot of this shill with such amazing details and patterns. The circular form looks beautiful and I like the perfect symmetry in design. Superb lighting and exposure levels and the black BG makes the image look marvellous. Surely Haraprasan would be happy about this dedication. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.

Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Merhaba Mehmet bey,
Both the image and the notes make one forget the troubles of the world to endulge in ten minutes of enjoyment. As usual the image is superb, the POV allowing us to see the details of this sea-urchin's test with fine sharpness and good lighting.
When I was a young man in the Scottish Isles about 40 years ago on a bird-watching trip, I fished out a sea urchin from a rock pool and used my pocket knife to take out the edible parts to eat raw. The only taste I had was that of the iron from the knife blade! Needless to say little was eaten and I had to be patient with my hunger.
Thanks for sharing this fine image and the accompanying information,
Best wishes, Ivan

Merhaba dostum Mehmet,
Now this is what I call a real beauty.
What craftsman in the world could create such a wonderful and intricately beautiful object de art?
And to top it all, the colour of this creation is just out of this world.
And in photographing this precious piece, you have put to use the best of your technical and artistic faculties.
Your erudite note on the Urchin shell makes things very clear to a slob like me.
Thanks for sharing this amazing work of nature's art.

We have these in New Zealand too and they are called Ses Eggs or Sea Urchins. The Maori people call them Kina and love going and looking for them on the rocks and bringing them ashore and eating them.
This is a nice presentation of the sea egg Mehmet, with all its spines removed,
Thank you for sharing

hello Mehmet,
Thanks at first for your kind comment on my picture.
What a collection in your gallery! Absolutely amazing. That's a great idea to present all these shells on TN.They are all well photographed and with the adquate note. Excellent didactic material. I have chosen this one for its very fine colour and patterns, but every single one deserves attention.
Un grand merci

Dear Mehmet,
This urchin is really fascinating. The photo has beautiful contrast and sharpness. I completely ignorant about urchins even if I collected some of them on Lesbos island recentely. I suppose this species is different than the commun greenish. I can see that the notches on the opening are smaller on the greenish one and the mamillions too. Thanks to share it! Best regards,
Catherine

Mehmed,
that image is magic. Brilliant details, finest shades of pale into deep purple, utmost concentration to the essence. A monumental piece of art that readily stands at one level with the sculptor and photographer Karl Blossfeldt's classical portraits of nature.
With thanks, and best regards,
Peter
P.S.: Your gallery is outstanding. Like walking through a first class museum of natural history combined with contemporary art.
