Flexing my wings
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|I laughed when I saw this red wing blackbird flex his wings because I was reminded of macho men who flex their muscles to show their strength. A female redwing was sitting on a cattail behind this male and I suppose he showed her that not only would he take care of her, but he was strong enough for the job. I wonder if he knows what he's getting into? This was good for a chuckle, and by the way, he did this several times, and never once did he take off in flight. He really seemed to want to show off. Is this something in the male world I don't understand?|

Great capture Kathy,
Actually he reminds me of a bull fighter with his red cape trying to entice the bull into charging.
I've been trying to get a shot of a redwing for a while now, but I just can't seem to get one to pose as nice as yours did for you. TFS

That is captured so well.
The diagonal look makes for a lovely composition.
The pose is super and the red feathers are brilliant.
Well focused with wonderful lighting and details.
A very beautiful shot.
Kathy - the red plumage is stunning. I am constantly amazed at the variety of birdlife... nice photo!
