George Kimble once said : "The darkest thing about Africa has always been our ignorance of it!" and right he was ...
And there she was, the Mona Lisa of the apes, gorgeous and feminine in any way rivaling the odalisque beauties of Oriental harems from the great masters canvases. She particularly, originates from a line of western lowland gorilla from Uganda brought here for consrvation purposes.

Hello Radu,

This is a wonderful portrait. The look in the eyes of the Gorilla and the way she holds her head is marvelous. It's like you wrote; the Mona Lisa of the apes. Very, very well composed. Exposure and lightening is fantastic. Details are sharp. POV & DOF are excellent. My only nit are the black borders below and on top of the photo. I would not have included them, but I agree that this is highly subjective and not objective criticism in any way. ;) However, a great portrait. Well done & TFS!

Ahh, this is a magnificent shot Radu. Her pose, expression and body language is a fantastic capyure. You have captured an awesome moment. Very good quality image too. Congrats on a great one. Thanks

great portrait. Excellent details & sharpness, perfect composition and great colours.
Fantastic work!
Well done, Radu.

Great pose of this big ape. This big gorilla looks very human. I think a bit more grass in front of the gorilla would do the compostion good.
Nevertheless, interesting photo.
My compliments.

Fantastic portrait Radu,
She looks like she's been holding that pose for a long time. She has a great exporession on her face. Great composition, detail and sharpness. The exposure and POV are perfect.
Thanks for posting

A Glamour shot, Radu. Excellent capture of the pose and emotions. This is outstanding! Love it!

These is really special shot Radu.
I love the way she looks, her pose and sad eyes.
I did a WS to show how I see the photo. It's quite hard PP some would say, but I like it and I decided to post it.
I love this shot cause it has that special "something".
Very well done.

Well captured. What a pose ? I agree that a bit more grass and a little less black would improve the impact. Funny anyway.
Regards Toni

Belle et intéressante composition photographique bien réalisée pour cette "new Mona Lisa". Bon point de vue et bonne netteté.
I like your composition !

Excellent capture, Radu! I really like the pose of the great ape - she does look positively feminine in a strange sort of way. Clever title!
