I can only think of two seeds which were so popular when I was a child. The first was the dandelion of course. All of us blew off the seeds (helping to propagate) as children. And Maple Tree Seeds which later became helicopter toys for us. As young one we had never ending imaginations and found time in a day for long periods of study through simple play.

These seeds are new now in spring, hence the colours are wonderful. A strange twist to this story. This Maple Tree is past by hundreds of times per day by young college students, as it is near a university but it is also right outside of my window...and last night under this gift of nature from God, I witness a drug dealer selling drugs to a student. They thought they were clandestine I'm sure, but little did they know I had my camera with 300mm lens looking out the window at them an imaging them for future reference. I thought it all rather curious as I had written my notes for this image, but this morning re-wrote them to show the irony and sadly opposing factors in life. A very strange but true tale. Of all the people to not see the tree and here come these two people...a buyer and a seller..exchanging "brain poison" underneath as if they were hiding...Life is like that for me. I am a silent witness...or perhaps not so silent, as I pass this on to you...New seeds of a Maple Tree.

Hello Bob,

I like very much this picture. Excellent sharpness, superb composition. The colours are wonderful.
Very well done,

Bonne idée, belles couleurs et bonne utilisation du flou et net.
Bonne journée.

Very pretty, tender looking things, these Maple tree seeds, Bob.
I love the colors in this beautiful close-up picture.
What you saw through your lens of the humans is sordid and need not affect the charm and appeal of this lovely image.
Ironies of existence are constantly at work, my friend, so why fret over them?

Hi Bob.

Beaitiful!! An absolutely perfect shot of the maple leaves and seeds. Colors are magnificent - details are razor sharp - composition is brilliant. The story you told does not really surprise me although I picture those transactions being made in dingy alleys not under a beautiful tree. By the way, do you ever sleep? We are in the same time zone now and I got up early and you had already posted.

very nice macro shot here Bob,

Hello Bob,
Amazing beautiful coloured foto. Composition and DOF are perfect. Excellent sharp focus.

A beautiful macro shot perfectly composed and expertly executed Bob, the colours nature provides us with are fantastic! I sincerely hope you've conveyed the related information to the narcotics people, together with a finely framed photo of that seller!

beautiful maple, which species is it? TFS Ori

Hello Bob
Simple but yet stunning...It seems we had the same toys of seeds as children..The dandelions we share but the "helicopters" you share here were our seeds of the sycamore tree....Perfect work glorious in colours with a fine dof.
All the Best Bob

This is a beautiful capture Bob and the shady wheelings and dealings that you witnessed when you took this reflect one of the many dark sides of our species.
Pity only a few of us can appreciate and value such things as this fine image of fresh maple keys and their colours depicts.

The composition of this is indeed beautiful. Also, how sad that the fruit of the tree must deal with the poison that surrounds it. The colors are rich, the hues really stand out, and it has stood for years, many of which, have probably been ignored.

I, too, am saddened by the level of toxic poisons that steal childhood, innocence, and with drugs, ultimately, hope.

This tree stands the test of time, has withstood many storms and is still able to bear fruit, and ironically, bear witness to many injustices without ever saying a word. I can only hope that it continues to bear fruit - and that that those who enjoy stealing from those around us, turning them into addicts one pill or smoke at a time, eventually will collide with forces that will shut them down - for good.

Silence, as they say Bob, can be deafening sometimes! These seeds (in shots) that you share will go on to become trees, and hopefully, we'll see more of the real trees as well, what with the world full of gas-guzzling automobiles!
Way to go, Bob!And maybe, we'll end up inspiring someone to nurture that one more tree!

What a beauty you've composed for us Bob!!
The contrasting colours and exceptionally sharp detail really captures your eye right off the bat.
Too bad the two people you discribed didn't have the sense to see what really is important in life. TFS

So these are Maple Tree Seeds - very interesting shapes Bob. Attractive colours and sharp details - thank you

And I bet the tree has seen a lot of evil but even more good as people have passed by under it.

Excellent close up photograph of the Maple Tree Seeds. I just love them. I have seen them rotating like helicopter's main rotor & coming down in multiples at Boston. TFS.
