very nice capture! beautiful colours and forms at the right moment!
I just love this image! The cool colours, the smoothness of the water and the curl of the wave. In my view this is a MUST for the competition, and I'd expect it to do well. Have you cropped anything off the right? I was thinking a tad more on the right may make it even stronger??? But as is, I still reckon it's a winner! Go for it!
PS - my second choice is your first wave shot titled 'Golden Wave'. :)

This one's my favourite. I love the koru shape the wave has made and how you have captured it with such a quick shutter speed.
The shape of the wave and the droplets of water suspended in midair.
Another awesome wave photo from you Nicki.
I've never seen such incredible patterns in a breaking wave ... but then, they're usually breaking over my shoulder ;)
This photo and your golden wave one really stand out in my mind.
I'd thought of entering the competition but I can't afford the $25 per photo unfortunately.
Good luck with your shots.

This is a very unique shot, I really like it. I find it so difficult to actually capture the movement of a wave this sharply. I must say you've done a great job!
p.s I will check out the other one and choose.

I like this rolling wave very much. Specially the exploding wave in thousands of little waterdops. The deep blue color at the BG is also magnificent. The effect of blowing glass is very strong. I think, just like Elisabeth said, that you can better crop more a bit of the rightside.
Go for it and let us know the results of this competition.
Greetings and TFS BOB
PS my first choice is your first wave shot titled "Golden Wave"
This wave has more movements, impact and colors.

Of the three, this is the most dramatic for the point of view and wave wall edge right of frame..Makes you feel like you're right there on the wave as it breaks. The splayed wave edge & curve does look like glass..
Anyway, this one of the three is my pick :)

nicki - this is a wonderful capture and would do well in a local show (IMHO).
You have a real eye for photography - I have enjoyed visiting your gallery - thankyou for sharing it
this photo has a wonderful dynamic showing the action very well and I too enjoy the sight of waves. The colours are very fresh and clean looking and at 1/400 of a second just the right amount of motion blur. For fun only and no other reason except I have yet to try it with water,I have done a workshop for this wonderful capture. Thanks for sharing this view with us all and keep on taking photos of nature in all of her glory. What wonderful patterns you captured in this wave Nicki. I love it and the gradation of color from ultramarine blue to sea green. It's a wonderful image.

This wave does have a special effect that looks like blown glass. Especially the inner core. I like the frozen action and the simplicity of the composition.
P.S. just wondering what happened with your ability to give critique. Non since the 31 juli.
