Hello,

this is Stair Hole, a place i have posted from before but never from this angle, so hopefully it won't be too famililiar to some of you.
On the other side of the Limestone wall on the left here lies the sea, which has crept in through gaps and holes at it's base over thousands of years and eroded the softer rock on the inside, created this 'hole'.
At the far end you can see vertical strata of rock, pushed up right from a horizontal position by the forces of Tectonic Drift, in this case the African plate colling with it's Eurasion counterpart to the north.

Thanks for looking..

Hi Paul,
you have got a very good eye for landscapes, this is one example. fine composition, depth and colors but what missing is the contrast, may be late evening or morning light will convert this beautiful landscape to a greater one.
i have no idea about the accessbility of this place during those times. good work and nice comments. TFS.

Hi Paul!

It is as if I would be attracted to the background. Is it the hell's hole there? The perspective is superb, the low point of view underlines it. This time the colour management is perfect!

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Paul,
Magnificent landscape.I liked POV,effect of lower shutterspeed, large DOF and composition a lot.Excellent work!
Thanks for posting.

Paul, this is an incredible shot from a unique perspective.
You have given the water movement a beautiful shape through slow shutter speed.
The depth of view here is just perfect.
I also like the colours in this picture, especially of the moss covered round rocks in the foreground.
You have made your 10-20mm do a great job, indeed.
TFS and regards.

Hello Paul,
I wonder if anyone has recorded this coastline as well as you have!? You ought to publish your images in a book! This is such an interesting geologic phenomenum that you've captured so well. Excellent POV, great DOF and beautiful colours. Brilliant!
TFS and cheers, Ulla

Hi Paul,
I remember your first visit to this awesome hole. I am very impressed with your timing, the wave action is incredible.
I am less and less a fan of bright light photos, but I can appreciate this one. The action and composition are just excellent. I love the FG details, but can't help to think that the BG is lacking a little contrast.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Paul,

Weren't you planning to come to the US this spring?? Or am I thinking of someone else??? I have been away most of the past three months so am out of touch with TN. I like all your recent images taken with that lens. Nice work!

Great stuff, Paul!

Hi Paul, this looks like a glacial run off you would find in the Alps!!! very well done and a great pov to get such a good perspective to get this effect. It's only the seaweed on the rocks that give it away... excellent!!!

Everything stationary except that stirring in the middle...a 3D effect..Paul.
This is a splendid capture with a great PoV and DoF. I do not remember coming across this place in your gallery. This is a great piece of documentation you have done here the result of geographical movements and formations.Imagine the way the sea would have crept in over a period of time creating the hole in the middle. The sea never lost its charecter and the waves still gets created creating the 3D effect in the middle.

Excellent exposure of this fine image in great colours, contrasts and light.Very well done.
TFS & Cheers
