A sweet and pleasant creature? III
Snowy Owl

Taken at the Ecomuseum earlier this Spring during lunch time. I posted the original photo as a WS.

The Snowy Owl was first classified in 1758 by Carolus Linnaeus, the Swedish naturalist who developed binomial nomenclature to classify and organise plants and animals. The name "scandiaca" is a Latinised word referring to Scandinavia, as the Owl was first observed in the northern parts of Europe. Some other names for the Snowy Owl are Snow Owl, Arctic Owl, Great White Owl, Ghost Owl, Ermine Owl, Tundra Ghost, Ookpik, Scandinavian Nightbird, White Terror of the North, and Highland Tundra Owl. It is the official bird of Quebec.

Oh! What a catch Luc! And what a face. His eyes are just about cross-eyed looking at you - scared you might take his tasty meat from hom. Good composition and details. Well done.

Excelent shot, Luc.
Well done on the composition. I like both.
Excelent work.

Superb shot!
The evil eyes of this fellow are striking.
Perfect POV and composition, good details and light.
The photo is quite weird but great.
I like it very much.
Well done!

Hello Luc, The eyes have it!! Great work with very good details, exposure and color..I think the red meat hangin' from the beak adds to the mean look seen here, Very well done!

Great mug shot, but sweet and pleasant.. ? He's got mean eyes, he's just about as squint-eyed as the Danish queen, and he's a messy eater, it seems ;-))

The impact of the image is striking! Excellent composition with good details. I wonder what's going on inside of his little head...

Hi Luc, his lunch looks pretty tasty, and he looks like he is enjoying it. Great composition and very good details. Well done.

Bonjour Luc
Superbe photo. Ne me dis pas qu'au canada ils viennent aussi manger dans la main !

Merci du partage

A bit sinister looking, especially with the raw meat in its mouth.
The eyes are quite expressive, and chilling...
Glad that I am not the next one in his sights.
Wonderful closeup portrait of this meat eater Luc!
Thank you.

It does have a mean expression on its face. Interesting POV showing the details nicely. Owls has this amazing eyes... almost hypnotic wouldn't you say?

Nice shot, Luc. Well done.

Hi Luc, I like very much your title, it is great. You have great potraits of this bird, and this one is not an exception. Interesting and strong image, with the cuteness and gore mixture :D Regards.
