What a beautiful bird. Only that one blade of grass distracts from an otherwise beautiful photo. I suppose one could clone it out carefully. I love the patterns and texture of the feathers. That coral on the face is so attractive. It that lens weren't so heavy I'd be tempted to get one just from looking at your gallery. Of course there is the small matter of the price and the trip to Africa etc. etc. ...and I suppose hiring you as a mentor and guide....

Nice composition and DOF. The POV is at the bird level, is well done. Sharp image and the light is very soft.

Curiosity I have for a long time, why you frame 3x4 and not 4x6. This is the standard format in Europe?

Francolins are not easy to photograph as they tend to be shy and you have captured this Swainson's with excellent technical quality as well as setting it in a fine composition.

I'd love to have such a good view of a Francolin myself but just now I am very happy looking at your capture which is excellent! I like the sharp details and the fine colours of the plumage. It also stands out very nicely against the background. Well done!
