Dear all,

I hope you'd like this water lily (Nymphaeaceae).

Doesn't she look like a ballet dancer? With the extending arm (petal) beginning to make a semi-circular movement from head to toe?

I look forward to any comments or pointers for improvement. many thanks!

Cheers,
Man Yee

from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nymphaeaceae

Nymphaeaceae is a family of flowering plants. Members of this family are commonly called water lilies and live in freshwater areas in temperate and tropical climates around the world. The family Nyhmpaeaceae contains 8 genera. There are about 70 species of water lilies around the world[1]. The genus Nymphaea contains about 35 species across the Northern Hemisphere[1]. The genus Victoria contains two species of giant water lilies and can be found in South America[1]. Water lilies are rooted in soil in bodies of water, with leaves and flowers floating on the water surface. The leaves are round, with a radial notch in Nymphaea and Nuphar, but fully circular in Victoria.

Water lilies are divided into two main categories: hardy and tropical. Hardy water lilies bloom only during the day, but tropical water lilies can bloom either day or night, and are the only group to contain blue-flowered plants.

Water lilies can be fragrant, such as Nymphaea odorata.

Hello MY,

Nice capture. Good exposure and framing. POV and DOF are excellent. Perhaps a little bit soft on sharpness. I made a fast workshop to remove the dust spot and some noise.

Your work shows a certain amount of talent for a young person! This image as well as your other few are very artistic. While some look to photography as a science, I tend to look at it with a different eye. This is especially true when someone is young and talented, but I am getting a bit older now, so as my mother used to say...everyone looks young to me...A very well control image by use of depth of field to give some depth and then the nice natural colours...You did a fine job here and with others you have posted. Please by all means continue on...

Hi Man Yee, fascinating closeup of wonderful flower with fantastic colors, splendid sharpness, good choice of focus, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hello Man Yee. I like the pleasing shallow depth of this capture. The focus on the tips of the petals is stunning in very good framing. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Hello My,
Very nice close-up, and beautiful details.
Excellent sharpness and the colors are nice and clear.

Siggi

Bonjour Man Yee,

Hello MY

artistic compostion with a fine Point Of View,
i love the vertical close cropping you gived to the image,
it is your POV and the vertical framing that gived the artistic
effect to this beautiful image, excellent focus on the middle petals
with excellent détails and lovely colours, TFS
