I WANT TO BE... A BEE!
You are a master in your field. I have seen much of your history in this and it is so good to have such an expert here on TN. Very good addition and in an almost textbook fashion. It contains a wealth of information. This kind of image is what I think rob Brown had in mind when he came up with TN notions....

Excellent capture of this Hoverfly showing very sharp details and natural colours. They seem to love all white Umbelliferae flowers.
We have fewer Hoverflies here this year I expect due to the drought we had earlier.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Superb macro of a hymenopterous- like Syrphid, a species new to me. The frame-filling cropping makes this a fine sharp portrait that shows it up well against the umbelliferous flowers in a pleasing composition.
TFS this beauty: great to see you back in action on TN!

Secondly it is well composed. Simple and effective.
Good note as always.

Once more great 3D-image of next insect from your collection. Details of the hoverfly image are stunning, exposure and reproduction of white petals of the fine tiny flowers are great. I also like impressive upper POV and nice composition of the image. Well done and TFS.

This is the first think I learnt when I joined TN - many of those bees I used to see flying around home were really flies - hoverflies!!
You show it well Ivan. Good sharpness and focus. And it looks so good on the pretty flowers too.

I am picking up my TN activity again. The inspection of your site shows that I missed some interesting shots of yours. This Syrphid is sitting on Aegopodium, one of the big species and with a particular life cycle. Impressive picture!
