Bug in the wheat
Des couleurs et une PDC interessantes, mais je trouve que l'insecte ne ressort pas assez, ca fait un peu ton sur ton... la lumière est impec par contre :-)
The earthy tones of this photo is very nice. The detail sharp. I like this a lot. The grass on the left were a bit distracting and I tried my hand in PS to see if they can be removed. Please tell me what you think. Thanx for sharing.

For the better, interesting colors, steven, it stands out of the insect macros with the help of this feature. Lovely diagonals too.
Now for my regrets, the insect is way to massive and needed to be filled flashed, maybe you could recover a bit with the highlights/shadows feature in photoshop CS but it would have been better if flashed on site!

WElcome on TN Steven. Nice first post with nice colours and a nice composition. Though I have to say that it is a little too dark on the bag of the bug - I know it is a hard job with the backlight but I think Gerhardt did a clever WS.
I also like the earth tones as well as the textures in this shot. I too did a workshop on this and I hope it is of some use. I used Microsofts Digital Image Pro to do the following:
1st I selected the back of the beatle with the edgefinder;
then I adjusted the levels to be brighter;
then I selected the remaining dark parts and did the same

I do like this picture - as everyone has commented upon all ready, the diagonal composition, the earth tones. The workshop, I think makes a good picture even better, the extra detail, missing in the original picture, providing greater texture.

A very nice bug, Steven. I just begin to photograph some of them. It brings me in an another world. TFS.
