Hi Ivan,
Both notes and picture are extremely interesting. Lots of problems to be soloved in our world. I'm not sure if I have seen a Hornet Robberfly before. He looks rather menacing pictured here with his prey. Excellent shot, as always, with nice colors and immaculate details. Great timing to catch this action. Background is wonderful and I love the diagonal composition.

Hi Ivan,
Your photo is impressive! the DOF is so good that even very fine details of insect's body can be clearly seen. Also you have rendered so many color tones on the insects as well as in the background. The light is well used and the reflection in hornet's eye looks great.
Thank you for sharing,
Cristian

Hi Ivan,
A nice capture of this beautiful robber fly along with its prey. Yes the medications to cattle makes life impossible for these beauties. When I was a kid often returning from school I see a lot of vultures feeding upon carcases and I always thought when I will grow up and own a camera I will surely capture the beautiful scavengers. But alas my dream is still now a dream. Hope the vultures will return. Very well composed with sharp details. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hi Ivan.
Very good and informative note and superb picture of a nice scene. I like wonderful diagonal composition of the image, details and sharpness of the predator and prey as well as the twig are amazing. Lights, exposure and colour palette are superb too. However, the key point of the picture is subject and brilliant POV. Bravo. Well done.
Alexei.

Hi Ivan!
Really big robber fly. I've not seen this specie in my life. Great side view with, razor sharp, full of details. I think spiky twig is very suitable for this kind of predator. Great macro.

Hello Ivan!
What a capture! I always wanted to see this species of Asilidae in the wild! And I am still dreaming about it! (and of course about pgotograph it :>). Very interesting picture of rather rare (at least in my region) species. And also very good documentaryimage, as Staphylinidae beetles are not a common prey of this predatory flies.
If you agree I would like to add this unique photo to the theme "Robber flies of Europe" :>
All the best and thanks for showing this picture!
Friendly yours,
Radomir

Hi Ivan, my kinda shot :)
Very good detail, color, exposure, BG, POV, and diagonal comp.
Hard to believe their threatened status..
Leave it to mankind and he'll screw up the balance in nature every time.
Well done!
