Hello Everybody!
Today I decided for a short break from Balkan pictures and to return to the Baltic States for a while :>

This is Jagala Waterfall often named by local people as "Estonian Niagara", both because its shape and size. It is located on the river Jagala and of course it is much smaller than original Niagara waterfall:

Height: 8,1 m

Width: 60-70 m (depending of water level in river)

The waterfall has created some 300 m long canyon with 12-14 m high rims. Moreover, in the limestone in upper side of the waterfall (note the rocky ledge on the left side of picture) many different fossils of Mollusca could be found. These are mainly cephalopods, many of them some 30-50 cm long!!!

You could ask why the water is so dirty? Is it because of some human activity? Well, the true is that the river Jagala brings waters from some boggs localized in this region and dark colour of water is because it includes dissolved peat tannins.

As you can see the weather was not very good as for landscape photography (it was very cloudy day), but I hope that you will like this smaller cousin of Niagara :>

Hello Radomir,
A superb capture of this Estonian 'Niagara' water fall. I like the POV from the side and below the top of the fall, which creates an attractive curve in the composition.
This must be an interesting place to visit and look at the nearby bogs and forests.
Thanks for sharing this and for you generous critiques on 'Swedish day':)
Best wishes from a rainy Scania,
Ivan

Hi Radomir.
What a great choice of POV. Amazing view from selected point. Reproduction of waterfall is excellent. Applied exposure time is wonderful. Despite the contrast subject image is exposed very well. Details of the entire scene is razor sharp. Well done and kind regards.

Hola amigo,
preciosa vista y pov,
detalles y agradable panorama...
bella composición,
saludos Radomir.

Hi Rodimir,

Good image considering the light conditions. For F6.4 that lens gives a good Dof,

Hi Radomir!

They may be smaller, but in my eyes they are as beautiful as the bigger ones! Isn't it a fact the the size often is not the most important criterion... Moreover, the way you have composed the picture with the overhang on the left and the half cercle of the falls makes the picture an outstanding one.

Kind regards

Markus

Hello Radomir,
Interesting written material and a good photo.
I do like that brownish water color. I wasn't thinking about dirt in the sense of pollution whatsoever. It looks natural and it is natural.
Well composed.
Well done

Czesc Radek!

Faktycznie, nawet podobny do Niagary :-) Ciekawe miejsca udalo ci sie znowu znalezc i pokazac. Zastanawiam sie skad ten brunatny kolor wody - czy to jakies osady czy zanieczyszczenia?

Wow the widest eh? Isn't that Jungian of us to post in the same day similar ideas?! I am not much a a believer in coincidence...I think these certain patterns we do as archetypes in our heads, no matter the distance nor relationship not there...we are all one...Very good show..Your weather doesn't look too bad to me...the sky in mine was white...some sort of inversion from weather I suspect and a lot of pol

Hello Radomir,
Hard to believe that this is from Estonia, but reading your note the fall looks bigger here than it really is. Even so very impressive and nicely captured. I really like the natural look of the water and your low POV is lovely too.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla
