Hi Evelynn. I like this very much . the warm glow of the last off the day light. I like the way the duck has water dripping from its mouth. I agree with you about the second one best to leave it in to balance the picture. Its all so peaceful looking.
well done TFs.
Nick..
Hi Evelynn,
You have made a very nice image here with the last of the light. Your composition is great as is and the mood you have created is fantastic. A 400 mm lens to just show the duck, the reflection and the first grass would maybe also have worked.

Hi Evelynn!
I would be pleased with the result, too! I love this picture. The evening light is marvellous, and it highlights the dark silhouettes of the duck and the grass in the best way. The contrasts are fabulous, and the repetition of the duck's shape in the background is the cherry on the cake...
Kind regards

Hello Evelynn,
Well, it is artistic and we know your other work and as you know I don't have (m)any expectations and you do the water colour paintings which we never see...
I was a bit puzzled about the bird in flight in the background
until I discovered it was a duck:-)
There's music in this work as you played the triangle very well;-)

I am amazed that you would even question such a lovely photo...it is superb.....technique is an art form for me in photography and as subjective as it gets...This is making me think about all of the arguments going on now in National Press Mag I get monthly..What you see in the viewfinder used to be the rule of thumb...that has changed dramatically over the last few years...there really are no accepted standards any longer...all lines are being crossed in both directions and some folks are getting lost...but essentially, in my eyes, it comes down to "how does this look to me?" Is it appealing...this photo in this way you have put it is super...simply wonderful..and in the end...it is in the eyes off the beholder..that's what counts.. Good show Eve..

Evelynn, this is truly magnificent!
The pink light on the water and silhouetted ducks and grass really set this photo off.
I love the composition too.
This one's going into my favs!

Great capture Evelynn,
A second earlier or later and you would have missed it. Love the way the duck and it's silhouette are connected by the water droplets.
Beautiful shades of pink and lavender in the scene. I must agree with you on leaving the third duck in, it would have seemed a little empty. Well done!!

Hi Evelynn,
Excellent silhouettes picture. Great pink color. But I prefer a cropping without the blur duck and more panoramic.

Hi Evelynn!
That back duck takes the picture back to balance I think, good decision.
The late shot comes out very well I think, I just posted one some days ago, and my duck looks detailless, I think it's a better way to leave just the contours like you did.
About Robin's advice: my shot was made at 500mm so imagine your colors and brightness settings there and you'll see what you could get. I prefer your crop with your settings.
Sorry for thinking too much :) it gets me back to that you pulled out the most of the situation! TFS

Hi Evelynn,
So is this a new lesson. Always brink a plastic duck with you on a photo trip? :) The pose and the high position in the water is a real clasic duck pose and probably the best pose one could get. Especially with the falling drop of water from the tip of its bill. I like the shallow DOF and the warm colors in this photo a lot. The both created a very pleasant mood. I agree with you with leaving the second duck in the composition. It does create depth to the photo as well.

Niek

Hello Evelynn,
Enchanting, completely as in the Chinese galanty show, reflective, romantic and very nice. The shallow depth of the sharpness and the light of happening sun performed equally good work as You Evelynn.

Hello Evelynn,
This is a lovely late evening capture in beautiful light and colours. You've been very considerate to include the second duck! I think I would personally have left him out and cropped this tightly horizontally. Nevertheless a feast for the eyes!

I really like this shot, you've captured the duck's silhouette very crisply, however I do feel that the square frame kind of takes away from the scene, especially with the blob of a duck in the background, maybe cropping the top portion out would benefit the shot more? Just my opinion :), I've created a workshop,

Hi Evelynn,
another great capture, very thoughtfully done with good control on the light. If i'm honest, i personally find the OOF bird in the top right a little distracting and might have framed this differently, perhaps with a closer crop on the bird and grasses in the FG... but that's just personal preference and in no way detracts from the quality of this image - well done!

Hi Evelynn
My preference: the WS. I feel there are 3 elements in the lower half - the duck, weed and the darker bits right behind the front bird. The back duck and dirty water distract me. (IMHO)
Still, I love the pink and mauve colours on the water. It's a 3-colour image, beautifully captured by you
Thank you
