I always wonder when i see the butterflies from Lycaenidae that how would it look if its as big as the Danaidae or Nymphalidae family. May be it would look the most beautiful but inspite of this small package these butterflies still look so beautiful.

I have avoided tight cropping here in this shot and followed the advice of Mr. Nagraj who has good butterfly collection in his gallery. It also helps in getting an idea about the size of the butterfly.

The species shown here is The Tiny Grass Blue ( Zizula gaika ) a species of blue butterfly.

The shot has been taken with Nikon D 80 along with Sigma 70/300 lens in macro mode. The resizing and framing has been done for the final presentation.

your critiques and comments are most welcome.

Hello Pankaj, Superb sharpness as I can see the shining flower petals. Excellent position of the object inside the flower pollen area. Wonderful composition and great dedication. I hope nagraj like it. I really admire his way of thinking and way or analysing. I get to learn a lot from you all. Keep it up and TFS.To sumup in Sumon's language. Kudos. Ganesh

You are among the few imagers among a half dozen from India who do so well with a new way and a new experiment....every time I am not sure what to expect and this one is not different..For some odd reason the yellow one is outstandingly sharp while all else takes a slight back seat...Simple Super!
Bob

Hello Pankaj. Close relationship with our mottled emigrant, this is one fine capture. Good detail in well taken perspective. Regards. Jusni

Hi Pankaj,
This is a classic image of butterfly showing its true seize and colours, I like the way you have composed the picture. I am sure Mr.Nagaraj will be happy about seeing this Image. TFS.

Hello Pankaj,
A well composed photo and a good subject. The lighting and colours are very nice.
Best regards
Siggi

The full flower within the frame actually provides the scale for the size of the Tiny Grass Blue, Pankaj, as you have rightly pointed out in your note.
Besides, the flower itself is an inseparable part of this pretty composition.
Thanks and regards.

Hello Pankaj,
This yellow flower seems to be attractive to butterflies: it would be interesting to know what it is.
The Tiny Grass Blue is sharply taken on this flower from a fine side POV that shows the underside of the wings with excellent details, despite the avoidance of tight cropping. A fine tribute to our TN friend Nagraj.
Thanks for sharing this beauty,
Ivan

Hello Pankaj,
Very beautiful capture of this little Blue in the yellow flower. It stands out very nicely against the shiny petals. Nice POV, sharp details and a nice soft background too. Welll done!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hej,
zawsze z przyjemnością oglądam nowych przedstawicieli rodziny Lycaenidae. Taki motyl w Polsce nie występuje, więc z tym większą satysfakcją mogę przyznać Ci " uśmiech" za to zdjęcie. Piękna kompozycja i doskonałe detale z zachowaną kolorystyką i światłem dają poczucie delikatności i kruchości.
Bravo and TFS
Alina

Hallo Pankaj
What a delightful and sunny view. The details of both the flower and the butterfly are just stunning and I cannot say one is more beautiful than the other. A great shot with lots of lovely detail to appreciate. The combination of colours is a lovely match and creates a most appealing and bright sight. The shiny yellow colour of the petals is really super. Thanks for sharing this piece of sunshine.
Kind regards
Anna
