long-legged cat (12 kg) with a madium long tail. in Israel it occurs in thickets, mainly near water, mostly along the Coastal Plain and the Jordan Valley and in oases along the Dead Sea.Their populations are vary common by fish ponds.This species are often seen in pairs with young.It feeds on fish, rodents and birds, but also on snakes

Wonderful picture. Very sharp and well lighted. The attitude of the cat tells a story in itself. I don't like domestic cats but this is something quite different and extremely interesting. Thanks for posting.

I've never seen this cat(Felis chaus) before. It looks like that he just came out of a burrow. Is it where they live? Very nice colours and details. Thanks for a great shot.
