[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today I dedicate this this close up of butterfly eyes to Bob Shannon. This is a common baron (Euthalia aconthea) (see WorkshoP). This fella entered our house and sat on the steel cupboard and stayed for two days.
Shot taken at 200mm and DCR-250 attached. Cropped about 30%. Hope you will like. Thanks a lot for viewing.

The butterfly's eyes are compound and made up of hexagonal lenses.

The Common Baron (Euthalia aconthea) - often called simply "baron" - is a medium-sized nymphalid butterfly native to India and Southeast Asia. It flies with stiff wing beats and often glides. The wing is not flapped very far below the horizontal.
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Insecta
Order: Lepidoptera
Family: Nymphalidae
Subfamily: Limenitidinae
Genus: Euthalia
Species: aconthea

Namastay Hara,
I'm back again after another short break.
(I needed to break my long addiction to ganja and it took a while to get over the after effects after 35 years of smoking it)
This is a wonderful shot of the moth eyes, and a nice dedication to Bob.
It is also similar to the last shot I posted yesterday.
You've captured excellent details in this super macro.
Very nice work!
Steve

Hello Haraprasan superb detailed macro shot focused to the eyes of a Baron dragonfly. TFS and regards,
Mehmet

I see you have been reading my notes! I didn't think anyone would be able to do this easily...it is fascinating...totally immersing in the third eye as well..There is something so very unique and quite philosophical about these eyes and the way they were intended to be used. it is one of those most amazing parts of nature which still baffles me...but at least we have good images...of which of course this is one super example. I thank you so much for both your attentive reading and your thoughtful image.

Hi Haraprasan,

I would never have known this was a butterfly! Glad you posted it in the workshop. Amazing macro of the eyes with excellent details and textures. I'm try to figure out if there is a hidden message here for Bob but I think not - just a lovely dedication.
