[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

this is looking west at Man O War Bay, and was taken about half an hour before my last post, just before the sun peeked over the horizon to greet the day. There's a massive difference in the amount and quality of light in this one, here the suns rays are heavily diffused by thick cloud, leaving only a faint pinkish tinge as they pass through the red end of the spectrum. In fact the whole of this shot has a strange pinkish hue to it. I was going to adjust it but i thought i'd leave it as the camera caught it.

We had ALOT of fun getting round this beach, which involved running full pelt in between the breaking waves that were coming right up the beach and then climbing part way up the cliff out of their reach when they came in. There's something quite exciting and primitive about clinging to wet rock and watching the sea swirling madly around underneath your feet...although i have to admit to not being quick enough a couple of times and getting very wet feet and trousers up to my thighs...ah well, all good fun!

Thanks for looking...

Howdy neighbor!
What a cracking shot :-)
And my God look at those clouds! Looks like a bloomin hurricane's coming your way!
Superb contrast between the blurred water and the crisp rocks.
Very well composed.
Great low-down POV.

Cheers mate,

Hi Paul
What can I say. Another post and another perfect shot ;-)Again beautiful dark sky great wide area covered with fuzzy water. Beautiful light Nothing to critique

Hi Paul,

This is really a lovely image. I like the lead in from the right bottom mirrored by the cliffs on the right, the DoF and the whole mood of the picture with the clouds in the background.

Hi Paul.
What a great and impressive water streams reproduction. Superb details and colour tones. The sky image with its dramatic colour palette is breathtaking too as well as POV and framing. Superb technique and fine result. My greetings and TFS.

Hi Paul.
Stunning image, the light is superb. Love the composition and placement of the rocks with the water swirling around. Exposed beautifully, pin-sharp front to back, content and detail stunning.
A slight halo along that top ridge, maybe from sharpening when it comes between two contrast?

I once wrote a piece Paul..it seem appropriate here..I do write a lot onth4 side...this was from back in the 1980's:
"Words come in and out like the tide. Grab what you can. Use them and learn from them...then toss the rest to the wind..." that has several meanings...one being sharing...and interconnectedness... This is the part you shine in...You not only utilize you utilize AND toss..nothign is wasted. I know it works becuase you have inspired me! this one photo is just another example of inspirational!

Hi Paul

You can only get a shot like this by getting wet feet :) Wonderful exposure on the water getting just the right amount of blur but still capturing the movement. Perfect POV, great light and I love that sky

Hi Paul

Another amazing seascape oozing with visual pleasure.

The very small aperture (f/18) ensured an incredible sharp image due to the very wide range of the DOF. The slow shutter speed (1/2 second) created a magnificent flowing effect to the incoming waves. The colour saturation is spectacular and the exposure control was masterfully executed.

Very well done and TFS.

Your shots always turn out so smoothly, very nicely captured! I really like how all of the elements in this shot just seem to compliment eachother,

Is this the sky upside down with the waves up there? We can clearly see the rain afar with its greyish fog. In contrast the bright waves and clouds animate your picture a lot. It is beautiful! Your decision to keep the pinkish hue is perfect, just perfect, and your moment of fun with the waves is palpable. Thanks!

Hi Paul,

Breathtaking capture...trying to imagine your position even as clicked away...amzing fusion of the elements and light..very well done...
TFS & Cheers

Hello Paul,

It sounds as if you had great fun taking this!

I felt running from the waves too! They appeared to be rushing over the edge of my monitor!!

The sky has that ominous feel about it when a storm is due, although I understand why it is so dark from your notes.

You have captured a great atmosphere of threat, you against the elements!
The f/g rocks play an important part in setting the tone as the inoming water swirls round them and over them.
Good composition.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Another great shot from an amazing morning. The sky really makes this shot, so dramatic. The water rushing over the rocks in the foreground balances the composition nicely.

Hi Paul!

As a spectator I have the feeling to get flushed into the sea... Everything points to the horizon, both the sea and the sky. The atmosphere is dramatic at its best. To cut a long story short: a great PaulH!

Kind regards

Salut paul,

Great shot! The yellowish foreground with the bluish sky looks dynamic. The flowing silky water and the stones lead our eyes to the horizon. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful pic!
