[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here is a Broad-Bodied Chaser that had just metamorphosised from the nymph stage.
As you can see from the crinkled wings, it still needs to pump them up :-)

If anyone recognises this photo then it's the one I posted several weeks ago that got deleted by the admin!

I hope you like it!

Once more terrific shot of a nice creature. I cannot imagine better way of reproduction of the dragonfly. Fantastic exactness of details. Splendid colours and symmetrical composition. Bravo.

Hello Joe, great close up captur of this newly emerged dragonfly. TFS.

Hello Joe,
excellent capture with superb sharp details, POV and colors. I am very glad to see this species, with perfect macro. Thanks. best wishes

Hi Joe

I remember this one very well. In fact, for a split second i tought it was my shot :)) So you can see why, i've uploaded a WS...it's quite funny :)

Anyway, a gorgeuos shot here, with excellent details and a great POV that ensures a good blurry BG.
Your colors turned out better than mine i think, but i think we both could have used just a tad more DOF: the right wings from yours and the left ones from mine :)) Again a funny coincidence.
Anyway, even so, it's a splendid shot and a great reminder of that lovely day.

Bravo and TFS

There used to be a TV show when I was a child..named "Mr Wizard" in which a man played a scientist (*he really was one) and showed folks all about science and nature by having individual small kids on the show each week. those kids had fire in their eyes for learning...and the times...well they have changed..kids now are into MP3's, Ipods, Guitar hero...craziness...hard to find someone like you Joey. You are a prodigy for sure...Here we have a grading system which goes to 4.0 as highest GPA or grade point average...Some places have higher learning course in High School and give higher grades so it is possible that some students will gradate with a 4.25 or some such and already have enrolled in "running start" college. Last year I had a young fiend graduate high school with his degree AND an Associates college degree at age 18. He was accepted to MIT with his additional SAT scores...I think....well I know you can pull it off Joey...We are already learning from you as if you are the teacher and we the students..

I guess to cut it short now...good picture Joey:-)

Hi Joe,

Another Joe Wow! It looks so fresh and clear. I love seeing the new wrinkled wings with such wonderful sharp details. The golden colors and clarity of the entire Chaser are fantastic. Just perfect against the background.

amazing composition,Joe
excellent definition and sharpness in this capture at the time of metamorphosis

Hi Joey,
budding photog that you are.I can see no reason why this would of been deleted from TN as it is a fine looking specimen and the colour, yellow as it is I have never before seen, that is until now.I have seen emergent dragonflies such as this in my experiences with them ,waiting for their wings to become ready for flight and as soon as they are ready, off they go killing all manner of insects that they can catch.A crisp and well focused shot with eye popping detail and excellent colour makes this a welcome addition to TN and one I think will be around for sometime,I like Horia's workshop picture however it could cause this to get deleted as it is not a workshop of your photo, hopefully neither will get the ax. Bob

Hi Joe,
Very good macro work again with this Broad-Bodied Chaser. Excellent POV, composition and DOF, displaying the details of the whole insect sharp. BG is nicely blurred.
Good work!

Hello Joe,
Great that you re-posted this one!
The technical features showing the expanding wings of this L. depressa are faultless and the dorsal POV shows all. The lighting and BG contribute to make this a perfect illustration.
Well done Joe and TFSA!

Hi Joe

I do admire your patience - we have so many dragonflies buzzing around at the moment, but they rarely seem to settle for very long. Great pose, colour and detail here.

Hi Joe,
Outstanding close-up image with immaculate sharpness and lovely colours. I like the details on its abdomen and wings and you have handled the natural light so expertly. Excellent DOF, POV and composition. Thanks for sharing this fine image.

Texturas y colores sobresalientes Joe. Buen equilibrio del conjunto , luz y colores. Podríamos decir que la toma ronda la perfección. Estaás consiguiendo poco a poco una galería de gran calidad a mi entender.
Un abrazo: Josep Ignasi Tejedor.

Hello Joe,
Excellent work. No doubt!
I'm surprised to see this sharpness especially through a converter.
Thought it was photographed in Spain due to to lighting.
Did you use a tripod here?
Well done
