What a super shot of the Miner - yes, very different to the Common Myna like we have in NZ. The grey colour is so different - and I see it has no brown colours either. You also have a very good photo in the WS too Jose.

What a great close up Jose.

What an amazing close-up.
Tihs is really an angle that we usually don't see bird from :) Great idea!
You were lucky that the bird came so close to you and acted perfectly natural, but you are to be congratulated for your quick response. The DOF and exposure settings are excellent and the result is a very original and in-depth close-up of this natural behavior of this bird.

I wonder at times what others think of us "serious" photographers...sometimes all own similar cameras, but one can tell when a photography takes his work seriously...make that his/her work:-) I see Selen has commented and I try to be so updated and "politically correct"...bob the fence rider....anyhow back to you super image...Sometimes I forget how many real pros we have here on TN..You guys and gals sit an be quiet, showing your beautiful images at times without notice, nor do you care...for it is your calling in teh good times as in the bad...

A fine capture in all technical ways and certainly a super image in character.

Hello José,
Noisy Miners are great birds to photograph and relatively tame so that in parks like the Centennial and the Botanical Gdns you can get quite close. You used this tameness well with this excellent close-up taken with fine sharpness and set in a superb composition as it takes nectar from some attractive red flowers.
I wish I had taken as fine a shot as this when Ulla and I were there two years ago!

Para mí sí que es una alegría volver a saber de tí y ver que vuelves a deleitarnos con tus fotos. Ésta del Noisy Miner es de una belleza singular. Cómo pudiste captarle tan próximo y en un momento tan preciso introduciendo su pico en esa pequeña flor, con tanta nitidez y precisión, para mí es una incógnita. Los colores, tanto de las florecillas como de las plumillas amarillas del ojo y el brillo reflejado en éste son un gran punto a sumar.

Pero como pudiste acercarte tanto al pájaro, o quizás como se acercó el tanto a ti?
Veo que funciona bien tu 70-300 mm... Con multiplicador quizas? Yo aun estoy indecisa con el 100-400 mm y su respetable coste...

Me gustaria aparecer más a menudo por aqui, pero el tiempo y problemas de salud en la familia me lo impiden...
