This is shoot on the banks of river Crisul-Alb. I think they are at least 5 (maybe 6) species of butterflies in a few square meters of mud.
position: (first) vertical-(second) horizontal
1) bottom (V) - left (H)
The Small White / Pieris rapae
position in workshop: 5, 2 left, 3 right
2) bottom (V) - left (H)
unidentified species (white color). this seem smaller then the Small White and have a pale grey spot on the interior of the wings. maybe a Wood White / Leptidea sinapis ?
position in workshop: 4, 3 left
3) center (V) - left (H)
Lesser Purple Emperor / Apatura ilia or Purple Emperor / Apatura iris ???
The purple emperor have more contrast between the colors of the exterior wings. If I had seen the interior of the wings it was much easier to identify.
position in workshop: 1
4) bottom (V) - center (H)
Iphiclides podalirius / Scarce Swallowtail
posted photo
5) center-right
Common blue butterfly / Polyommatus icarus
I`m not sure about that. I have no detailed picture of that butterfly, but i shoot one in the same session.
posted photo
6) top (V) - left (H)
Clouded Yellow / Colias croceus
Two butterflies.
position in workshop: 2 right |
