HA! We are not often neighbors...but I saw this sneak in...and Wham...you took all the eyes away from my poor old leaf...this is a super coloured picture. You went for the Gold Medal this time...Very nice blending..absolutely perfect image..

good capture, different viewpoint, looks nice with the colorful lantana flowers. could have been better had you moved bit right for a better viewpoint. little brightness would have be good. tfs.

This is a good picture with a different and refreshing viewpoint, The placement of the flower in the frame coupled by the effect of butterfly in air is amazing to look at, some times when you have less time involuntarily you get such gems.

Namaste Pankaj,
this time, you selected a difficult point of view. You exactly focused on the body axis.
By this, larger parts of the wings are also sharp. I think, however, that it is not advantageous that the non-sharp parts
are exactly positioned in the centre of the picture, because our eyes are primarily driven to this part.
This means that the first impression is non-sharpness although the important parts are really sharp.
In this case, I break the rule to leave more space in front of the butterfly but try to push the non-sharp
parts into one corner of the picture.
What do you mean?

Hello Pankaj,

The POV of your photo is well chosen showing an interesting perspective of the butterfly. Soft light renders well the colors showing well the pattern of the wings. There is a well looking contrast between the insect and the flower it is sitting on. Blurry background enahces the feeling of sharpness with which main subject is shown.

Typical Pankaj image of a beautiful butterfly perched on lantana flowers!
This one taken with your long lens is perhaps the best till date in terms of immaculate focus and true reproduction of colours.
The specimen you have captured is in great health, mercifully.
Curiously, we do not see much of this butterfly here in and around Delhi.
I am aware that your garden plants have been selected with a view to inviting your subjects and you have succeeded in your venture.

Hello Pankaj,

What a wonderful butterfly! You took a difficult POV but keep the focus on the head as it is supposed to be and got both antennas in focus. In fact I think that the little aperture you took let you have large part of the wings AND the head in focus. Excellent exposition and the colors look very natural.

Next time I wish you a better POV but it is not always as easy, isn't it?
