Hello,

i finally managed to get out to do some shooting today and ended up here at Blacknor South, looking north on the western shores of the Isle Of Portland back towards the mainland. As you can see, the coastline is pretty rugged along here and getting to this spot requires some perserverance.
There is a steep and narrow path that winds it's way down from the cliff tops, followed by a climb down a dubious looking old knotted rope, another steep path and then a clamber over large limestone boulders. This was all made even more strenuous and cumbersome with a backpack full of camera gear and a tripod strapped to it...getting back up was less fun.
I used to come here climbing, but have not visited this spot for quite some time. Lots more to explore along here photography wise, i can't wait to get back to capture more.

Thanks for looking, hope you're all doing ok...

Hi Paul,

Stunning vertical seascape, very dramatic sky with excellent cloud formations, and those cliffs wow, perfect POV, superb d.o.f, really nice work mate, all the best.

Cheers Rick :)

Hello Paul,
I wish there was a little map so I can immediately see your whereabouts:-)
In the mean time I'll enjoy these beautiful images. You'll climb and I'll enjoy. That's quite fair, I suppose:-)
Well done!

Definitely for boding Paul...I am leery of this season...late fall to winter..I am in awe of what this could bring to us in the US and the world..and your image puts to the eye the way I feel..but then the sun could arise in full bloom? Perhaps..
I digress...

Hi Paul,

This dramatic image is definitely worth the effort required to get there. Plenty DOF and mood from the weather conditions with good composition.
TFS

Hi Paul.
Unusual and very impressive dark key of execution of the sweet landscape. Amazing darks and colouration of the image at whole, great use of long exposure time and perfect DOF/sharpness of all static objects amazing rocks and stones. Well done and TFS.

Hi mate

Nice to see you're going out and that you are taking newer photos :)
This is indeed a very rugged place and coastline and i'm sure it's quite difficult to get to the sea level in this point. Yet, the rocks in the FG look great and i really congratulate you for getting such nice details, textures and colors from them. Higher up, the vertical cliffs look terrific, but what i really like the most i think are the smaller clouds right above the horizon. There you have a special kind of contrast and some very subtle tones that make this a lovely shot.
Very well done, mate! Keep on going here and i'm sure you'll come back with more and more original and great shots.

Bravo and TFS
Horia

A splendid combination Paul, a rugged, rocky landscape, a sea in motion, sun trying to peek unsuccesfully from behind omnious looking clouds on the horizon, a wide angle lens to exaggerate the perspective, a slow shutter speed and least but not last an expert nature photographer! TFS indeed my friend.
Cheers,
Mehmet

Hello Paul,
I just imagine you climbing around over these stones with all you material, it remembers me of the tour we made with Markus (Heaven) last Sunday. I like the swecial light in this picture, the vertical framing and the different blue tones in the water and the sky. A special atmosphere here, which I like a lot
Best regards
Anne

Hi Paul,
The effect of the water along the rocks is something that immediately claimed my attention. The almost illuminating color is awesome. I like the clarity of the entire photo and especially in all details of the rocks. The way the landmass contrast against the cool sky is wonderful as well. Its probably because there is not real horizon visable that it feels as if the photo is tilted, so I am leaving it with a feel.
TFS,
Niek

Hello Paul,
I must check on the map where you've been!:-) This bit of coastline looks ever so dramatic with the vertical rock almost looking like the walls of a castle. As usual a fine low POV, exellent DOF, great details and lovely light and colours. Brilliant work!
TFS and cheers, Ulla
