Hi Sue. I am not to sure of the ID it looks like some kind of Plover but not 100%. What ever with you clear pictures with good markings and colours i am sure some one will help. TFS.

You were right about the ID. I've seen them this year in the wild in Ethiopia. Good sharpness and details. It's difficult to mark a black eye in a black stripe on the head. But you managed it very well. Good clear colours.

Just a note on the affinities of this rather aberrant "glareolid". Lately, many anatomical systematists dealing with bird affinities are re-examining the possibility that this particular bird, certainly meriting its' own subfamily at the very least, may not be in fact more closely related to Burhinidae (mostly on shared osteological characteristics).
By the way, one of the annecdotal sources affirming that these birds have been seen picking the teeth of crocodiles is a certain Meinertzhagen - now known to have been the culprit of numerous ornithological hoaxes, in particular, in the adulteration of bird skins, and in falsing their reported collection locales, etc. So, a word to the wise. Personally, I kind of doubt the story myself.

Merhaba Sue,harika bir kompozisyon olmuş.İkisininde senkronize hareketi, aynı kıyafeti giymiş olmaları,dans ediyorlarmış izlenimi veriyor.Birazdan reverans yapacaklar gibi.Çok beğendim,süper, ellerine sağlık :)

I like your shot- nice colours and good sharpness, pity thet the second bird is not blurred more- it could improve the depth of the image. Good composition and POV.

This is lovely; two for the price of one and both nicely detailed. The plummage markings and colours are well defined and the shot has good composition.

Really good-looking birds, Sue.
I have not seen them before.
Very good exposure and nice colors.
Wish their eyes were more visible.
TFS. : )

What a lovely scene and beautiful birds. DOF is superb as well as diagonal composition of the shot. You managed to reflect and show all beauties of the birds brilliantly. Bravo. Well done.
