[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a Blue Flag also known as a Wild Iris which grows along river banks.

The Province of Quebec's flower, "Fleur de lis" Flower of Louis, which is not to be confused with Louis of France. More info, go to my very early pics, you'll find more there.

Going the Extreme, toying around with the cam,
I set the ISO at 1600
1/800 at F5.6
No flash, no tripod, evening shot, hand held
Manual
In photoshop elements, slight crop from the top, resize for web, adjusted the levels slightly. a usm. neat image to rid of noise in background caused by the usm, there was hardly if any on the original. I like the highpass better, it causes less noise then the usm.

Beautiful! Perfect depth of field... interesting the effect of changing your ISO so much.

Mike, I have said it before: I like your experiments. This one turned out better than I would have thought. ISO 1600.. You must be James Kirk. "to boldly go..." :)

It rendered a lovely soft effect. A smaller aperture to get the back leaves in and it would have been perfect. Any noise removal done?

attractive plant and attractive composition, I like the symetry. Background is fine IMO.
