Yes, it is our Odessa November. I do not want that the summer come to end. And we have unbelievable autumn this year. Until last days the daily temperature was about 18C. (However, today it is already enough cold.) I do not remember such warm October and beginning of November. And I am impressed so much with abundance of blossoming wild and garden flowers. These ones are from our countryside garden. It is true that these flowers are cultivated. However, little hardworking bee have helped me to present here this unique for our November colour palette as well as results of my so hardworking wife efforts. She has landed these flowers for the first time, and they please various insects and us very much.
_____

Honey bee

Bees are flying insects closely related to wasps and ants. Bees are a monophyletic lineage within the superfamily Apoidea, presently classified by the unranked taxon name Anthophila. There are nearly 20,000 known species of bee, in nine recognized families,[1] though many are undescribed and the actual number is probably higher. They are found on every continent except Antarctica, in every habitat on the planet that contains insect-pollinated flowering plants.

Bees are adapted for feeding on nectar and pollen, the former primarily as an energy source, and the latter primarily for protein and other nutrients. Most pollen is used as food for larvae.

Bees have a long proboscis (a complex "tongue") that enables them to obtain the nectar from flowers. They have antennae almost universally made up of 13 segments in males and twelve in females, as is typical for the superfamily. Bees all have two pairs of wings, the hind pair being the smaller of the two; in a very few species, one sex or caste has relatively short wings that make flight difficult or impossible, but none is wingless.

The smallest bee is Trigona minima, a stingless bee whose workers are about 2.1 mm (5/64") long. The largest bee in the world is Megachile pluto, a leafcutter bee whose females can attain a length of 39 mm (1.5"). Members of the family Halictidae, or sweat bees, are the most common type of bee in the Northern Hemisphere, though they are small and often mistaken for wasps or flies.

The best-known bee species is the European honey bee, which, as its name suggests, produces honey, as do a few other types of bee. Human management of this species is known as beekeeping or apiculture.

Bees are the favorite meal of Merops apiaster, the bee-eater bird. Other common predators are kingbirds, mockingbirds, bee wolves, and dragonflies.

Gosh...this time of the year it almost seems crazy...We had not a real Indian summer here just a milder than usual but most like the rest and now told for a harsh winter again...Not sure how many more I can take...I am running low on cameras and moeny:-) but thanks to people like you and your images I am still motivated.

Ciao Alexei,

Hello Alexei,

It was necesarry to mention the date you have taken the photo as the image makes me think to spring or early summer. You have captured a very fine light rendering such a rechness of color tones. Flower colors matches fine with the background. I must say the sharpness of the image is astonishing and even finest details of the flowers can be well seen.

Thank you for sharing,

Hi Alexei. Is this what global warming is all about . We dont have it in England at the moment . Dull and wet. This picture is just what you need to brighten a wet dark evening . Bright colours and shrp detail. With a bee as a bonus. well done TFS. interesting notes too.

Hello Alexei,

The weather is really topsy-turvy!
We had no summer, then snow in October and now the polygoniums are flowering and don't normally appear until early spring!

Make the most of the good weather and the beautiful blossoms! This is a particularly beautiful, pink flower sharply focussed and displaying good colour and textural details. The light is bright and creating the most delicate shadows and colour tones on the petals. The little visitor is equally well defined and is a bonus!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Alexei,
I am always blown away by the fantastic images you are able the capture the quality of which is second to none, thank you Alexei.

Hello Alexei
This is a 3 in 1 beautiful image in my opinion.
1.The vividly bright colour of the flower on your photo. It is really appealing and both the petals and the anthers are well displayed and the details are clearly seen.
2.The honey bee which I am sure is having a ball in that flowers nectar. The light falling on its wings makes it shine beautifully.
3.However the most gorgeous is the unopened blossom buds. I cannot let an image pass if I see a flower bud. It just gives such meaning to any image.
Overall a wonderful presentation, with good camera work and some great notes. I know how you feel not wanting a preferred season to end as it feels like you have to wait so long for photographic opportunities for that specific season to return. Thanks for sharing.
Best regards
Anna

Hi Alexei

You are right...here, too, we have an incredibly warm autumn. It's just got a bit colder now (the past few days) but so far it's been really hot, i could say.

This is a nice example that the plants don't really understand what's going on and they are blooming...i'm afraid it's not natural and that they will freeze soon.
Yet, you presentation is lovely, with gorgeous tones on the flowers and excellent details on the honey bee. I like the fact hat you've used a smaller apperture here and got the entire flower in focus...it gives this macro a more special feeling.

Bravo and TFS
Horia

hello Alex,
I see that you have changed a little your style and approach in the last pictures. You give us more to know about the environment and you use less the flash. The result gives very natural pictures. I like this one especially for the fine color-palette which reflects the sunny atmosphere of your garden. Really well done

Hi Alexei,

Are you sure this wasn't taken during the summer? The beautiful flowers with the bee surely do not look like a November sight. The lovely buds are a promise of more to come. The weather has even turned here in Arizona. Wonderful colors, marvelous details of the petals and a stunning composition. The bee is a bonus!

I too am amazed, Alexei. The warm weather continues into November in your country and garden flowers are still blooming.
The bee on these lovely Cosmos flowers does offer you a chance to make it a two-subject image. The flowers have a spring-like quality about them and their pink colour is so very refreshing. The Bee too looks good in this set up.
